Thursday, May 8th was one of the most humbling and proud moments of my life. George J. West Elementary hosted Jeffrey Roy Basketball Day in our honor, and Karen and I were absolutely blown away. From the handmade thank-you posters to the special seats and the beautiful flowers for Karen—every detail was thoughtful beyond words.
I went into this hoping to make the kids feel special—maybe even change a life. But in return, they made us feel special… and they truly changed ours.
This basketball team is something truly special. These young athletes are undefeated this season, and they play with heart, grit, and unity. The energy in that gym was electric! And we can’t forget Josh—the drummer who bursts into rhythm every time the team scores. He’s the heartbeat of every bucket.
Huge credit goes to Jessica and Coach Patrick for their tireless dedication, leadership, and love for these kids. Their work goes far beyond basketball—it’s about building confidence, community, and character.
I was also gifted three amazing cards filled the names and numbers from the team, and an autographed basketball that now proudly sits in my workshop at Technician Tees. I already 3D printed a wall mount basketball holder. Every time I see it, I’m reminded of just how powerful support and connection can be.
Karen and I are beyond proud to support these incredible students and to be part of the George J. West family.
West Is Best—and this team proves it every single game.
